What’s wrong with your baby’s red eyes?

Red eyes in small babies can be caused by physiological reasons or pathological reasons: 1. Physiological reasons are mainly foreign bodies entering the eyes, such as eyelashes and sand, so the baby will keep rubbing the eyes, which eventually leads to red eyes. Or the baby has been sleep deprived for a long time, which may also cause the symptoms of red eyes; 2. Pathological factors may be that the child is suffering from conditions such as conjunctivitis, a common bacterial infectious eye disease. In addition to the redness of the eyes, it can be accompanied by symptoms such as itchy eyes and photophobia. In more serious cases, it could also be that the child is suffering from a partial bleeding disorder, such as allergic purpura, which will not only cause the affected child to have red eyes, but will also cause symptoms such as blood spots on the skin. If parents are not sure of the cause of their child’s illness, it is advisable to take the child to the hospital for a checkup to clarify the diagnosis as early as possible so as not to delay the condition.
