Causes of periodontal disease

Periodontal disease is a disease that occurs in the periodontal tissues and is mainly classified as gingivitis, gingival hyperplasia, and periodontitis. Periodontal disease is a common oral disease that can be caused by local and systemic causes. 1, local factors: normal our teeth surface under normal circumstances are present microbiota, called plaque, which forms a balance with the immune defense system in our mouth. On the one hand, under the long-term stimulation of tartar, food inclusions, dentures and other bad restorations, etc., it is easy to locally form inflammation generation or abnormal proliferation, thus suffering from periodontal disease. On the other hand, when the body’s resistance is weakened (such as fatigue, cold, drinking, staying up late, etc.), the oral defense function is weakened, the microorganisms within the plaque multiply, and periodontal disease will also be formed. 2, systemic diseases: clinically rare, when suffering from blood system diseases, genetic diseases, metabolic diseases, malnutrition and other diseases, affecting the above normal balance of the oral cavity, also prone to periodontal disease. For example, when the number and function of white blood cells are abnormal, it hinders the body’s resistance to plaque microorganisms and makes it easy to develop periodontal disease. Regardless of the cause, plaque is mostly the starting link. Enhancing the body’s immunity and cleaning the mouth regularly can help prevent periodontal disease.
