How to breathe during labor

The Lamaze method of breathing during labor can be used to help mothers gain confidence in natural childbirth and improve hyperventilation. Lamaze breathing can be used from the seventh month of pregnancy until delivery. Through the learning process of neuromuscular control, prenatal gymnastics and breathing technique training, it allows the mother to focus her attention on breathing control, diverting pain, relaxing muscles and maintaining calmness during labor, to achieve the goal of speeding up labor and allowing the baby to be born successfully. Lamaze breathing can be divided into five stages: 1. chest breathing: pregnant women use slow chest breathing at the beginning of labor, take a deep breath in through the nose, start inhaling and exhaling with the contractions of the uterus, and do not resume normal breathing until the labor pains stop; 2. light and shallow breathing: inhale a small mouthful of air through the mouth, keep light and shallow breathing, let the amount of air inhaled and exhaled be equal, breathe completely through the mouth, keep the breath high in the throat 3. gasping breathing method: first expel the air, take a deep breath, then do 4-6 short exhalations quickly, you can adjust the speed according to the degree of uterine contraction; 4. breathing exercise: in the last stage of the second stage of labor, pregnant women want to force the baby out of the birth canal, but can not force, so as not to occur vaginal tear, at this time you can use the breathing method of breathing. At the beginning of the labor pain, take a deep breath, then breathe in a short but strong breath until you don’t want to exert yourself; 5. Push: take a long breath when the cervix is fully open, then hold your breath and press the air in your lungs to the lower abdomen to relax your pelvic muscles. Keep the original posture to exhale when you change your breath, while taking a full breath, continue to hold your breath and push until the baby is delivered.
