What causes itching at the base of the thigh?

Itchy thighs can be caused by a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, contact dermatitis, ringworm, candidal intertrigo and scabies. Lack of personal hygiene and frequent wearing of tight trousers can also cause itchy thigh roots.
