Risks of interventional procedures for atrial septal defect

The risks of atrial septal intervention are mainly puncture vessel risk, residual shunt, umbrella dislodgement, embolism and allergy, as follows: 1. Puncture vessel risk: because the femoral vein has to be penetrated during interventional blocking, the puncture process may penetrate the femoral artery, leading to femoral arteriovenous fistula or subcutaneous hematoma and other complications in the puncture site area; 2. If the ultrasound suggests a small hole, it can be left alone, but if the hole is larger, it may be necessary to put the umbrella again or open the chest to seal it; 3, umbrella dislodgement: it is also a problem of unsuitable size of umbrella; 4, embolism: because after putting the umbrella, it may lead to wall thrombosis before the endothelialization is completed. 5.Allergy: Allergy to any component of the blocking umbrella may lead to allergy.
