As this symptom is mainly caused by bleeding from the GI tract, the bleeding should be stopped depending on the site of bleeding, in addition to treating the primary disease. Haemostatic drugs such as norepinephrine and posterior pituitary hormone can be used to constrict the blood vessels and reduce bleeding, and endoscopic treatment of the bleeding lesion can also be performed to stop bleeding.
