Successful treatment of lower extremity deep vein thrombosis with Straub antithrombotic device

Recently, two patients with lower extremity deep vein (May- Thurner syndrome or common skeletal vein compression syndrome) were successfully treated by Straub embolization device in our department. In one case, a 75-year-old female, ultrasound and CT showed that the left lower extremity deep vein thrombosis continued into the inferior vena cava, and the patient presented with significant swelling and even blister formation in the left lower extremity. The patient showed swelling of the left lower extremity and even blister formation. Preoperative CT showed opening of the left lower extremity deep vein with stent placement using Straub’s embolization device. In another case, a 48-year-old female, CT showed that the left lower extremity deep vein thrombosis continued into the inferior vena cava, and the patient also presented with swelling and pain in the left lower extremity. Preoperative CT Straub device was operated inside the patient to remove the thrombus. Postoperative DSA showed that the thrombus was removed from the left lower extremity and the inferior vena cava, and the vessel was opened. The head end of the Straub device was used to remove the thrombus from the patient’s body by negative pressure suction. The electric motor at the end of the Straub device generates 40,000 revolutions per second to create negative pressure. This device can also be used in the treatment of pulmonary embolism. It is also effective in the treatment of old thrombosis where thrombolysis is not effective.
