The main factor in the development of primary cellulite is a congenital genetic factor. Secondary fatty granules occur after physical or medicated skin injuries (e.g. radiation therapy, topical hormone ointments) or after the healing of certain inflammatory skin conditions (e.g. dermatitis herpetiformis).
