Does cesarean section have long-term effects on pregnant women?

  The long-term effects of cesarean delivery on pregnant women need to be monitored over a long period of time, and research in this area is just beginning in China. However, some longer-term effects of cesarean delivery on pregnant women have been seen in some of the data. Uterine scar pregnancy is one of them.  Uterine scar pregnancy is commonly referred to as a pregnancy in which a woman who has had a cesarean section becomes pregnant again and the fetus happens to be implanted in the cesarean scar of the uterus. According to data, uterine scar pregnancy is a relatively rare phenomenon, with an incidence of about 1 in 1800 to 1 in 2226. The risks posed by a uterine scar pregnancy to the pregnant woman are considerable. In the event of miscarriage or termination of pregnancy, the pregnant woman may face hemorrhage, or in severe cases, require hysterectomy, even endangering her life. Uterine scar pregnancy is a risk that is of increasing concern and importance to obstetricians and gynecologists today.  In addition to this, cesarean delivery may cause scarring of the abdominal wall for endometriosis. Normally, the endometrium should be implanted in the uterus, but during cesarean section, some of the endometrium cells will be shed and implanted in other parts of the uterus, and if they are implanted in the abdominal wall of the uterus, scar endometriosis of the abdominal wall may occur. In this case, there is a risk of infertility and menstrual disorders.  Cesarean delivery may also indirectly induce mastitis. Mothers who give birth by cesarean section have wounds on the abdominal wall, and some positions are restricted when breastfeeding, causing difficulties in breastfeeding. Usually, mothers who give birth by cesarean section will adopt a lying down position for breastfeeding, when the child is poorly attached to the nipple, which may cause nipple rupture and skin contusion on the nipple surface, making breastfeeding fail, and may even induce mastitis.
