Is cervical conization a minor surgery and does it hurt?

  Cervical conization is the removal of a cone of tissue from the cervix, with the base of the cone being the external cervical opening and the tip of the cone facing toward the internal cervical canal, the height of the cone varying depending on the lesion. The height of the cone varies according to the lesion. The cone includes the cervical canal, the cervical atypical hyperplasia zone, and the squamous columnar epithelial transformation zone, which is the most susceptible to carcinogenesis. It is mainly used to screen the cervix for malignant lesions.  The main types of cervical conization are cervical cold knife conization and LEEP. During the operation, a circular incision is usually made at 0.5cm outside the cervical lesion, and depending on the indication of the operation, a conical excision can be made 1-2cm deep, and then the wound can be filled with gauze circle and pressure to stop bleeding, so it is a very small operation. And during the operation will take under lumbar anesthesia or epidural anesthesia, so cervical conization is also not painful.  If you usually have increased leucorrhea, yellowish leucorrhea, odor of leucorrhea, or painful intercourse, or even irregular vaginal bleeding, and if you have severe cervical erosion during gynecological examination, you need to undergo cervical conization to rule out the possibility of cervical malignant lesions.  In conclusion, cervical conization is a minor surgery and is painless.
