Body changes in early pregnancy and measures to cope with them

The pregnancy process is an amazing journey for the pregnant mother’s body and mind. It is a journey in which the body and mind change day by day, little by little, to adapt to the needs of the growing baby and to prepare for our eventual delivery and breastfeeding. However, these changes may also bring discomfort to the body, fear and anxiety to the heart, so let’s talk about these changes in the body during early pregnancy and how to deal with them. The uterus is equivalent to the size of our fist when we are not pregnant. During early pregnancy, the uterus slowly increases in size, but because it is in the pelvis with the bladder and is located behind the bladder, pregnant mothers are prone to frequent urination symptoms. As pregnancy progresses, the vulva becomes locally congested, the skin thickens, and the color of the labia becomes darker. The response to frequent urination: this does not need to be a special concern for pregnant mothers, so the uterus continues to grow and grows out of the pelvic cavity naturally, do not reduce drinking water because of frequent urination! Second, the breast Our breasts begin to increase in size in early pregnancy, and engorgement is obvious. Pregnant mothers feel that their breasts are swollen, which is a common sign of early pregnancy. The nipples will gradually increase in size and become darker and more erect (harder). The color of the areola also deepens. Response: Many pregnant mothers feel that their nipples have become unsightly, but there is no need for us to deal with this, just do a good job of local cleaning. Third, the blood system The blood of pregnant mothers is in a state of high coagulation after pregnancy, so for any reason, it is not recommended to be strictly bedridden and immobile to prevent blood clots from occurring! Consult your doctor under special physical conditions and choose the appropriate physical activity. IV. Digestive system After pregnancy, influenced by estrogen, pregnant mothers’ gums are thickened and easily congested, edematous and bleeding (for example, brushing teeth easily bleeds). Some pregnant mothers have heartburn, which is caused by the relaxation of the cardia sphincter and the reflux of acidic contents in the stomach to the lower esophagus. Some pregnant mothers also have a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen, which is manifested by a prolonged gastric emptying time. Sometimes it is time for lunch, but it feels like the breakfast is still in the stomach and not digested. Constipation is also one of the common problems. After pregnancy, constipation can easily occur due to the weakened intestinal peristalsis and prolonged residence time of feces in the large intestine. Measures: gum bleeding: use a soft-bristled toothbrush, if frequent bleeding should consult a dentist; epigastric fullness: eat less, more meals, avoid greasy food; heartburn: avoid bending and lying down after meals, appropriate activities can slow down the symptoms; constipation (prevention trilogy): 1, to ensure the daily intake of fruits, vegetables and other dietary fiber-rich food, less spicy and stimulating food and greasy food; 2, appropriate exercise 3. Develop a good habit of regular life and regular bowel movements. Note: Pregnant mothers with severe vomiting symptoms are suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum and should go to the hospital for treatment of the disease! V. Skin The secretion of melanocyte-stimulating hormone increases during pregnancy, and a large amount of estrogen and progesterone has a melanocyte-stimulating effect, causing melanin to increase. Pigmentation may appear on the nipples, areola, abdominal white line (the line in the middle of the belly) and vulva of pregnant mothers. If the pigmentation is on the cheek and cheek area, around the eye orbit, forehead, upper lip and nose, the edges are more obvious and the brown spots are in the shape of butterfly, which is called pregnancy chloasma. We do not need to be nervous and special to deal with it. All in all, it is certain that pregnant mothers will experience physical changes during pregnancy, and we should keep an optimistic and cheerful attitude to cope with them. Some of the discomforts that occur do not require special treatment, while others require the help of a doctor. Therefore, it will be very helpful for pregnant mothers to communicate with their doctors about any special changes in their bodies during maternity check-ups!
