How can mothers with hepatitis B avoid infecting their newborns?

The incidence of hepatitis B is high in China, and hepatitis B vaccination has been included in the planned immunization. Every child is routinely given hepatitis B vaccination after birth, three times within 24 hours after birth, one month after birth and six months after birth. Babies born to HBsAg-positive mothers should be given both human hepatitis B immunoglobulin and hepatitis B vaccine at different sites within 24 hours after birth, which can block 70% to 80% of vertical transmission of hepatitis B from mother to child.
