Why do pregnant women have loose teeth?

After pregnancy, the dramatic increase in oestrogen and progesterone can make capillaries “brittle” and increase the response of the gums to local irritation, magnifying the existing inflammatory response, often manifesting as swollen gums, bleeding, bad breath and, in severe cases, loose teeth, pain and tooth displacement, which can reduce or subside on their own after delivery. Therefore, a thorough oral examination should be carried out before pregnancy to try to deal with any dental problems.
