Why do I have itchy toes in late pregnancy?

If the itchy toes are accompanied by skin damage such as rashes and flakes, skin conditions such as tinea pedis and eczema should be considered. If the toes are itchy and there are no other skin symptoms, causes such as pruritus should be considered.
Pruritus is the first symptom to appear and can gradually spread to the extremities, trunk and face. The itching can last until delivery and usually disappears a few hours or days after delivery.
Since intrahepatic cholestasis during pregnancy can lead to premature birth, fetal distress and even stillbirth, pregnant women who have persistent itchy skin that spreads throughout the body need to seek medical attention to identify the cause as soon as possible to avoid delaying the condition.
