Allergen testing is usually not necessary for periodic review. The main items to be reviewed regularly are indicators to determine and reflect changes in the disease, such as exhaled nitric oxide test, lung function, and induced sputum eosinophil test. Exhaled nitric oxide test is done every 1-3 months, lung function is usually done every 6 months to a year, and induced sputum eosinophil test is done every 3 months to 6 months. Airway responsiveness measurements are usually reviewed after 1 to 3 years of treatment. However, for a specific asthmatic patient, the current treatment does not change his allergic constitution, but only the basis of the disease causing disease, i.e. airway inflammation. By controlling the airway inflammation with medication, the airway hyperreactivity is reduced, thus reducing the reactivity to various external stimuli and allowing a good control of the disease.
