3 ways in which HPV infection evolves

Many women are infected with HPV, but it is a transient infection and most of them disappear on their own after 8-10 months of HPV infection. A small number of women are persistently infected with HPV, and this group of women is a high risk group for uterine cancer. There are 3 ways of evolution after HPV infection: 1) progression, some HPV infections further progress into clinically manifested lesions after a certain incubation period, such as warts and tumors; 2) quiescence: HPV exists in skin and mucous membrane tissues for a long time without causing obvious clinical symptoms; 3) remission: some HPV infections are self-limiting and can gradually disappear after a certain period.
