Seborrheic dermatitis belongs to the category of “white dandruff wind” in Chinese medicine, which can be divided into wind-heat and blood-dryness, damp-heat accumulation (dampness and heat evils accumulate with each other in the body) and other types of evidence, and can be treated with Chinese medicines such as elimination of wind and angelica drink plus reduction and gentian diarrhea liver soup plus reduction.
1. Wind-heat and blood dryness: wind-heat evils attacking the skin, and wind-heat and dryness are embedded in the skin, which can be seen as reddish skin patches, dryness, flaking, itching, aggravated by wind, or itching of the scalp, dandruff, and dryness of the hairs, accompanied by dryness of the mouth and thirst, and dryness of the stools. 2. Dampness-heat accumulation: uncontrolled diet, water metabolism imbalance, resulting in dampness-heat accumulation in the skin, visible skin lesions are reddish patches, sebum secretion, greasy scabs, or even vesicles, oozing, accompanied by bitter mouth mucus, abdominal plumping (stomach distension and discomfort), short and red urination (small amount of urination, deep yellow color), stools foul-smelling.
It can be treated with medicines that clear away heat and eliminate dampness, strengthen the spleen and harmonize the stomach, such as gentian diarrhea liver soup plus subtractions.
