Does cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) always turn into cervical cancer?

Most CIN I can be reversed or cured. About 50%-60% of CIN I regresses spontaneously, about 10% of CIN I transforms into CIN III via CIN II after 10 years or more, and less than 2% of CIN I eventually develops into cervical invasive carcinoma, while CIN III has a 20% chance of developing into invasive carcinoma within 10 years.
Therefore for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) we need to differentiate between low-risk and high-risk groups and adopt different treatment strategies.
