How to confirm the diagnosis of lymph node TB

When lymph node tuberculosis is suspected, in addition to the usual screening tests for tuberculosis, such as the PPD skin test and gamma interferon release test, blood tests for routine blood tests are also required. In addition, the diagnosis of superficial lymph node TB requires a lymph node puncture or lymph node biopsy, in which material is taken from the lymph nodes suspected of having lymph node TB and sent to a specialized laboratory for laboratory testing to determine whether the patient has superficial lymph node TB. It is more difficult to confirm the diagnosis of deep lymph node tuberculosis, and it is necessary to first identify deep lymph nodes, such as those around the heart and abdominal cavity, which are suspected to be infected with tuberculosis. Lymph node TB in the abdominal cavity may even require laparoscopic surgery to remove the diseased lymph nodes to confirm the diagnosis.
