Is it normal for a baby not to poop for a day?

Whether it is normal for an infant not to have a stool for 1 day should be judged according to other symptoms and should not be generalized. If the infant is in a good state of mind and eats milk normally, it can be considered normal. If the infant has crying, abdominal pain, abdominal fullness, or is unable to ventilate normally, it can be an abnormal condition and needs to be seen by the pediatrician. There are individual differences in the function of the gastrointestinal tract of infants, so the number of bowel movements varies. Some infants may have a bowel movement once every 2-3 days, but usually no more than 3 days, and some infants may have a bowel movement once a day or more. Therefore, it is sometimes normal for an infant not to have a bowel movement for 1 day, but if the infant has not had a bowel movement for more than 24 hours and has abdominal distention, abdominal pain, and a thick, greasy tongue, he or she needs to be seen by a pediatrician at a hospital. In daily life, parents should give their infants the right amount of warm water, massage the abdomen clockwise, and add pureed fruits and vegetables after adding complementary foods, which can promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and help laxation.
