Most benign tumors of the parotid gland have no spontaneous discomfort except for palpable masses; malignant tumors of the parotid gland grow faster, and most of the masses are irregular in shape, hard in texture and poorly defined, and may have adhesions with surrounding tissues, resulting in masses that are not easily pushed, mostly accompanied by pressure pain, which may be accompanied by spontaneous pain.
Pathological diagnosis is the gold standard to distinguish benign and malignant parotid tumors.
