Flat warts and condyloma acuminatum are not the same in nature. Flat warts and condyloma acuminatum are two different diseases, although both are caused by human papillomavirus infection, but the types are different. The main types of virus infecting condyloma acuminatum are 6, 11, 16 and 18, while the main types of flat warts are 3 and 5. Condyloma acuminatum occurs mainly on the genitals and perianal area, and flat warts occur mainly on the face, neck and back of the hands. The lesions of condyloma acuminatum are usually the size of a grain of rice to a pea, and the warts can be progressively larger, cauliflower-shaped, and rough and unevenly keratinized. The rash of flat warts is yellowish, light brown, flat papules, usually with a smooth surface and hard texture. Warts are spread mainly through sexual contact, or contact with clothing or towels used by people with warts. Flat warts are mostly spread by self-inoculation, and rarely by indirect contact. It is recommended to find abnormal skin manifestations, timely visit the hospital, clear diagnosis and treatment.
