More hair on the stomach after pregnancy is usually a normal pregnancy phenomenon, mostly due to changes in hormone levels in the pregnant woman’s body after pregnancy. There is some variability between different pregnant women, and there may be some pregnant women who have more and darker body hair, while others do not have too obvious changes. There are two main types of hormones that cause an increase in belly hair during pregnancy, one is estrogen, which lengthens the hair growth cycle, thus causing body hair to become thicker; the other is androgen, which also increases during pregnancy, except that it is much lower than that of estrogen, which accelerates the growth of body hair and deepens the color of body hair. In addition to the growth of hair on the stomach, some pregnant women will also increase body hair on the perineum and armpits. In addition to changes in body hair on the stomach, pregnant women may also experience skin changes, such as becoming dry and rough, which usually return to normal after delivery. Some pregnant women may occasionally develop irregular chloasma on the face and neck, which is called stretch marks. Pregnant women do not need to worry too much about the above symptoms, which are caused by hormonal changes after pregnancy, and generally will gradually recover or reduce after delivery, without special treatment, and generally only need to be on time for maternity checkups, and closely observe the fetal movement.
