Choosing medication or craniotomy for brain hemorrhage

Whether to choose medication or craniotomy for cerebral hemorrhage should be evaluated according to the severity of cerebral hemorrhage and the patient’s status. Generally speaking, medication can be chosen for mild cerebral hemorrhage, while craniotomy can be chosen for severe cerebral hemorrhage.
1. Mild cerebral hemorrhage: If the amount of bleeding in the brain is small, there is no obvious edema and the bleeding site is not in the important functional area, the patient can follow the doctor’s instructions to choose medication for conservative treatment, such as mannitol to reduce intracranial pressure, olaxetan to protect the intracranial nerves, etc., and at the same time, the patient can choose medication to lower blood pressure such as captopril to avoid the increase of blood pressure and rebleeding. The drugs should be used under the guidance of doctors.
2. Severe cerebral hemorrhage: If the patient has more bleeding in the brain and obvious clinical manifestations of nerve compression or increased intracranial pressure, such as dizziness, vomiting and other symptoms, under the premise of meeting the indications for surgery, craniotomy can be taken, such as ventricular drainage, decompression of the bone flap and so on.
Cerebral hemorrhage is a more serious disease, once cerebral hemorrhage should immediately go to the hospital for formal treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition, resulting in serious consequences.
