Does healthy sleep have an impact on healthy living?

Sleep accounts for about one-third of people’s lives. In the past, people did not know enough about the quality of sleep, as if the deeper you sleep, the better; the deeper the better; the more the better. However, with the progress of medical science and the improvement of people’s quality of life, it has been recognized that the quality of sleep is closely related to physical recovery. The diagnosis and treatment of snoring, a common problem that causes a decline in sleep quality It is gradually coming to the agenda. In our population, there are indeed some people whose poor physical fitness is caused by poor sleep, which is manifested by snoring and apnea during sleep, easy to dream, easy to wake up, morning headache, heavy head, low energy, poor daytime memory, drowsiness, difficulty in concentrating on things, etc. It is mostly accompanied by obesity, hypertension, dry throat and complications of cardiovascular system and respiratory system, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular accident, etc. Snoring is commonly known as snoring, and mild snoring has little effect on human body. The snoring that causes special concern in the medical field is snoring with apnea during sleep, namely obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The cause of OSA is the obstruction of the respiratory tract, which is due to some abnormalities of the air passing through the nose, nasopharynx and laryngopharynx, such as rhinitis, nasal septum deviation, pharyngeal tonsil hypertrophy, palatine tonsil hypertrophy, soft palate relaxation and tongue root and jaw disorders, which obstruct the normal passage of air and cause snoring and apnea. If you have snoring during sleep with intermittent apnea and breath-holding, you should go to the hospital for examination in time to determine the degree and location of snoring for early treatment. Make your body recover normally and work more energetically. Snoring during sleep and daytime sleepiness used to be regarded as normal, but in recent years the medical profession has discovered that these phenomena may be sleep apnea syndrome, and severe sleep apnea syndrome can lead to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. There are two main causes of sleep apnea, one is due to the malfunction of the brain to command the respiratory apparatus, and the other is the upper airway is blocked resulting in apnea. Currently, most people suffering from sleep apnea suffer from obstructive sleep apnea of the upper respiratory tract. In people with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, the muscles in the upper airway, from the base of the tongue to the throat, will suddenly relax and stick together during nighttime sleep, preventing air from being delivered, thus stopping breathing. In normal people, breathing stops occasionally and briefly during sleep, but in people with sleep apnea, breathing stops tens to hundreds of times a night. Beijing Yanhua Hospital opened a sleep examination room, has recorded a patient night breathing stopped up to 402 times, the longest stop breathing up to 117 seconds long. Middle-aged men who are overweight are especially prone to this syndrome. Since obese people have more fatty tissues, short and obese necks, and narrower upper airways than normal people, they are prone to snoring and sleep apnea syndrome. In addition to loud snoring, patients are easily tired and sleepy during the day, even when talking with others, working, or driving. Other symptoms, such as morning headache: mental retardation, are also manifestations of sleep apnea. Heart function is also affected in people who suffer from sleep apnea. Due to the lack of oxygen at night, the heartbeat is irregular, which can lead to sudden death in severe cases. In addition, due to the lack of oxygen, the pulmonary artery constricts, making the blood pressure rise, and in the long run, the heart will also become larger, forming a pulmonary heart disease. In addition to impaired heart function, half of the patients suffer from hypertension. In daily life, because patients are easily tired during daytime and have difficulty in concentrating, their working ability decreases and some patients cannot even work, and driving is also easy to cause danger and more prone to accidents than normal people. Snoring patients can lose weight, keep sleeping on their side, quit smoking, alcohol and sleeping pills, which can reduce the condition. Obese patients who lose weight can reduce the condition or even recover automatically. Alcohol and sleeping pills can make muscles more relaxed and breathing easier to stop, making the condition worse. The adenoids are located in the nasopharynx at the back end of the nasal cavity. The overly enlarged adenoids will block the back end of the nostrils and cause poor ventilation, which will then manifest as snoring in children’s sleep. The harm of children snoring while sleeping is more than that of adults, because children are in the growth period, snoring while sleeping causes insufficient oxygen supply to the body during sleep, which affects the child’s intellectual and physical development, and can seriously affect the development of facial bones, forming an “adenoid face”. Once a child has the symptoms of snoring or open-mouth breathing during sleep, he or she should go to the hospital in time to check the adenoids and perform sleep apnea monitoring, and if there is adenoid hypertrophy, surgery should be performed as soon as possible to minimize the harm to the body. Before treatment, we should fully consider the obstruction site, the degree, choose the appropriate treatment method, and go to a regular hospital to get effective treatment, so that you can have a healthy sleep every night.
