Nowadays, computers have rapidly entered people’s work and life, with the gradual popularity of computer use, people began to worry about the problem of computer rays affecting human health. After years of research, the Shanghai Institute of Radiological Medicine has initially confirmed that computer rays do not affect human health. A study called “X-ray detection and hygienic evaluation of electronic computer terminals”, through the testing of more than 100 computers of various models, concluded that the computer picture tube high voltage is proportional to the X-ray dose. The general computer high voltage is below 30KV, and its effective X-ray energy is only below 10-20KeV. If the natural world (including cosmic rays) on the human ray is called the background, the computer generated X-rays and screen material Β rays, only 1/10 of the background, the dose is minimal. These minute amounts of computer rays are harmful to human health, as well as to sperm and eggs. Even fertilized eggs and fetuses have no significant adverse effects. However, experts warned that long-term computer work of women who have not had children and pregnant women, should still pay attention to take the necessary precautions. This is because of the fact that navigation tests have proven that women who work at computer terminals for more than 20 hours a week have an increased rate of spontaneous abortion. Conclusions on the effects of computer radiation on reproductive health are still to be obtained from large-scale epidemiological studies.
