What to do if your child often has a cold

Recently, many mothers have come to consult about what to do when their children often catch a cold and cough during this period. I always tell mothers to strengthen their children’s resistance and immunity. So what is immunity and resistance? This word is always on the lips, but many mothers really don’t know much about it. In life, the people often confuse the two. In fact, they are not exactly the same. When we talk about immunity, we are referring specifically to the immunity to a particular disease. For example, after vaccination, our organism becomes immune to diseases such as measles and chickenpox through a series of immune responses. And resistance is generally understood as the body’s defense against external harmful organisms and pathogens. Of course, this also requires the involvement of the immune system, but the immune system is only a part of the overall resistance and requires other systems of the organism to participate together. For example, an intact skin mucosa can defend against external bacteria and viruses, white blood cells can defend against pathogens that invade the skin, etc. It can be seen that immunity and resistance can sometimes be substituted for each other, and sometimes not. I. So, is it that some children often catch colds with low immunity? Only when our organism is immune to external pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, the body will not get sick. When babies come into the world, they can only get some ready-made antibodies through their mother’s breast milk, but the number of these antibodies will gradually decrease, and babies do not develop their own immunity to bacteria and viruses. Therefore, when the resistance decreases, bacteria and viruses will invade and make the baby sick. Every illness process is the process of the body’s resistance to fight with pathogens, including fever, cough, runny, etc. are the external manifestations of the “struggle”. When the body’s immune system is built up, the disease will be restored. Generally speaking, babies in infancy and preschool are the stage when they gradually build up and strengthen their immune system, in other words, they are also the most prone to illness. However, under normal circumstances, babies can usually overcome illnesses and recover quickly with the help of doctors and parents. However, if you have fever several times a month, you still need to go to the hospital to let the doctor see if there are problems with the immune system or factors that affect the resistance. Second, so how to strengthen the baby’s immunity and resistance? 1, the baby needs adequate nutrition, so that the body can get the “bullets” to fight with pathogens, so that the body has a normal metabolism to repair some wounds and weak links, the body’s immune system is more dynamic. 2, should often exercise, so that the body is always in a state of “immune surveillance”. 3, to vaccinate according to the plan, so that the body to obtain immunity. 4, to ensure a good living environment for children, pay attention to avoid skin damage, so that pathogens can take advantage of.
