Indications for cesarean delivery

A cesarean section is usually recommended by a doctor when labor cannot be completed vaginally, when vaginal delivery or continuation of pregnancy is dangerous to the life of the mother and fetus. The indications for cesarean section include maternal factors, fetal factors, placental and umbilical cord factors, and obstructed labor factors, etc. 1. maternal factors: pregnant women with serious complications or comorbidities, such as preeclampsia, heart disease, respiratory disease, acute fatty liver during pregnancy, scarred uterus, pre-eclampsia, stalled or prolonged labor, as well as pelvic abnormalities, reproductive tract tumors, vaginal transverse septum, vaginal inflammation, etc. 2. 2. fetal factors: including multiple pregnancy, huge fetus, abnormal fetal position, fetal distress, etc.; 3. placental and umbilical cord factors: such as placenta praevia, placenta abruptio, umbilical cord prolapse, etc.; 4. difficult labor factors: transverse position, breech position, cephalopelvic disproportion, etc. Therefore, regular maternity checkups, balanced diet, avoiding or reducing the chance of producing huge babies, timely correction of fetal position and minimizing pregnancy complications or comorbidities are recommended during pregnancy, which can reduce the cesarean delivery rate. For pregnant women who have their first cesarean delivery, they may have psychological panic or nervousness, mainly because they do not know about cesarean delivery and they are overly worried about their babies, so they should perform psychological guidance, give more confidence, understanding and support to relieve maternal pressure.
