After surgery, most children can return to normal activities within a few days after surgery. A small number of children may develop complications after surgery that may prolong recovery. For example, post-operative scrotal oedema usually does not resolve on its own until approximately 2-3 weeks after surgery, while post-operative haematoma and syringomyelia may take up to 3 months to resolve.
