Can high blood pressure occur in nephrotic syndrome?

Elevated blood pressure may occur in nephrotic syndrome. In general, most patients with nephrotic syndrome are combined with symptoms of elevated blood pressure, and elevated blood pressure is a common manifestation of nephrotic syndrome. In patients with nephrotic syndrome, plasma albumin decreases, leading to a decrease in intravascular osmotic pressure, leakage of body fluids into the tissue interstitial space, causing a decrease in intravascular volume, activating activation of the renin-angiotensin system, leading to an increase in renal tubular reabsorption, water and sodium retention, and leading to the vasoconstriction of the patient’s blood vessels, which leads to the elevation of blood pressure. Renal diseases such as nephrotic syndrome lead to decreased sodium excretion, sodium retention, increased plasma volume, and increased intravascular body fluids, which cause water and sodium retention, causing an abnormal increase in blood vessel wall pressure, thus manifesting the symptom of elevated blood pressure. Elevated blood pressure is a common clinical manifestation of nephrotic syndrome, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, use antihypertensive drugs under the guidance of the doctor’s instructions, and actively treat nephrotic syndrome.
