An itchy belly button during pregnancy may be due to increased oestrogen during pregnancy causing biliary stasis in the liver. It often occurs towards the end of pregnancy, but can also occur in early pregnancy. Some pregnancies may be associated with jaundice. In most cases, the itching and jaundice resolve or heal on their own after delivery. Itchy belly button can also be caused by lack of umbilical hygiene during pregnancy.
