Symptoms and treatment of Candidiasis

The symptoms of Candida infection vary from one part of the body to another. For example, Candida vaginitis is characterised by redness and swelling of the vulva, intense itching and burning sensation, redness and swelling of the vaginal wall, grey pseudomembranes like thrush on the vaginal mucosa, yellowish-white curd-like or cheese-like vaginal leucorrhoea, sometimes tofu-like, but no foul odour. Candidiasis is characterised by mild flushing of the penile foreskin, white cheese-like patches and scaly papules attached to the coronal sulcus, and in severe cases, localised redness, swelling, erosion and oozing, frequent urination and stinging.
