What causes dizziness when you get up?

In life, many people experience vertigo when waking up. There are many causes of vertigo, and patients need to identify them by combining their medical history and clinical symptoms. Firstly, the onset of vertigo is closely related to neck activity, and patients need to be alert to cervical spondylosis, which can cause cervical compression of the carotid artery and thus the symptoms of vertigo, and a cervical MRI can be taken to exclude cervical spondylosis. Secondly, positional vertigo may be caused by otolithosis, which is caused by the movement of otoliths in the semicircular canal, thus stimulating the hair cells of the semicircular canal. It is mainly manifested by transient episodes of vertigo lasting less than one minute when the patient is in a specific position, such as getting up or turning over. The patient should be treated by ENT. Finally, many young people like to live irregularly and stay up late at night, resulting in insufficient rest for the brain, which can lead to the symptoms of vertigo in the morning. It is also possible that vertigo when waking up is caused by high blood pressure, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, etc. It is recommended that patients actively consult a local hospital to improve relevant laboratory tests and examinations to clarify the specific causes of vertigo attacks before regular treatment.
