The importance of measuring the blood type of pregnant women (O type, RH negative blood pregnant women must read)

Everyone has a blood type, and blood types can be divided into many types according to different classifications: ABO, RH, MN and so on. Our obstetrics department mainly focuses on the classification of two blood types. I. ABO blood type. If her husband is one of A, B, or AB, especially if her baby has ABO hemolysis and jaundice after her previous birth, she should pay special attention to it. Such pregnant women should have their blood type antibodies measured and dynamically rechecked. Tang Yunbing, Department of Obstetrics, Second Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University Second, Rh blood type. The majority of us Chinese are Rh-positive, however, a small number of people are negative. It is very difficult for such people to get spare blood if they are bleeding profusely, so this kind of blood is called “panda blood”. Please note: 1. If a pregnant woman is Rh negative and her husband is positive, the Rh anti-D titer of the pregnant woman should be measured dynamically. 2. In late pregnancy (34-36 weeks), pregnant women with this Rh-negative blood type can go to our blood bank to have their blood drawn and stored in the blood bank so that they can access it when they have a baby, which is similar to banking. 3. After birth, Rh-negative pregnant women can receive intramuscular injection of anti-D immunoglobulin (an antibody) within 72 hours after delivery. This antibody, which is more difficult to buy domestically, can be purchased in advance (currently not available in our hospital). Therefore, if a pregnant woman is type O, or Rh negative, she may have to have her blood drawn a few more times during her pregnancy than other pregnant women.
