What is wrong with a foreign body in the child’s neck?

Patient: My son is 1 year old and 8 months old. I found a foreign body in his neck by chance in November last year, the size of a pea, and I could feel it clearly when I touched it with my hand. The child also has no other abnormalities, and then I heard from an old Chinese doctor that it is “apricot sheep’s seed” (the vernacular of Bazhong in Sichuan province), which is the same as the lymphatic principle that the doctor said would disappear after a period of time, but it still exists after so long. Expert: This is a normal lymph node reaction. Generally, the diameter of lymph nodes can be less than 1cm, painless, soft and movable. In case of local inflammation, it can increase to 2cm. If there is local redness and swelling with pain, it is inflammation of lymph nodes. The enlargement of normal lymph nodes does not require medication. The use of antibiotics does not reduce the size of the lymph nodes, and they usually become smaller and disappear after the function of the lymphatic system decreases after puberty. Abnormal lymph nodes tend to be hard and immobile, and a diameter of more than 2 cm is a distinctive feature.
