How to treat intussusception in adults

Intussusception in adults is a common clinical condition in which a segment of the intestine is trapped in the lumen of the adjacent intestine, causing obstruction to the passage of intestinal contents. If the treatment of adult intussusception is considered to be caused by benign lesions, it can be treated by air enema repositioning. However, the majority of adult intussusceptions are caused by intestinal polyps or malignant tumors, which are best treated surgically, and the specific surgical plan is determined by the surgical investigation. If necrosis or other malignant lesions are found, the diseased intestinal tube should be removed and the corresponding radical treatment should be carried out, and postoperative disorders of water-electrolyte and acid-base balance should be corrected to prevent complications.
