What’s wrong with tinnitus after eardrum repair surgery?

Eardrum repair surgery, also known clinically as tympanoplasty, is a type of tympanoplasty. Tinnitus symptoms after eardrum repair surgery are common in clinical practice and can be temporary or become permanent. It is usually seen for the following reasons: i. Normal swelling reaction and inflammatory exudation of the surgical wound in the external ear canal incision, which is mostly temporary. II. Compression and irritation caused by the absorbable gelatin sponge placed inside the tympanic chamber. III. Inflammation of the eustachian tube and negative pressure in the tympanic chamber caused by postoperative upper respiratory tract infection. IV. Excessive forceful nose blowing. V. Wetness and water in the ear canal, secondary infection in the surgical cavity. VI. Slight tinnitus already existed before the surgery, and the postoperative performance is obviously prominent.
