In recent months, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of patients coming to the clinic requesting pigmented nevi due to the influence of a certain movie. This has led to a further strain on the already tight surgical outpatient clinic. In the last three months, about 30 to 50 more such surgeries have been performed in the outpatient clinic. Not a single case of melanoma has been reported in the pathology report. Again, I would like to inform you that pigmented nevi do not always have to be removed. My personal experience is that moles located on the palms of the feet, hands and areas prone to friction in daily life should be actively operated. Those with dark color, unclear border, uneven surface and ulceration should be actively removed. If the size of the mole is rapid and the recent changes are large, surgery can be considered. If the effect of laser or freezing is not good, surgery should be performed as soon as possible.
