Why am I so sweaty?

In summer, some people are particularly sweaty, some sweaty, some palms sweat like rain, some extremities, the whole body sweat, very annoying. Many people think they should be sick, what exactly is the disease but do not know.

So let’s talk about, what are the causes of sweating?

Sweating can dissipate heat, lower body temperature, moisten the skin and expel waste. Sweating is a physiological phenomenon of the human body. In hot weather, wearing thick clothes, drinking hot soup, drinking and eating hot pot, emotional excitement, labor running, etc., the increase in sweating is a normal phenomenon. However, if there is an abnormal increase in local or general skin sweating (more sweating than the average person), it is called hyperhidrosis. Among them is often sweating during the day, moving then sweating intensified is called self-sweating; sweating when sleeping, sweating after waking up to stop is called night sweating.

There are several common types of hyperhidrosis as follows.

1, Yang hyperactivity

Performance: excessive sweating in the summer heat, moving head sweat or sweating all over the body. But no other general discomfort symptoms (such as no fever, no shortness of breath, no chest tightness and loose stools, etc.). As soon as the weather cools down, sweating decreases.

Reason: This kind of sweating is mostly seen in people with strong yang energy. Yang qi is strong, the body is very good, usually in addition to sweating, and not often sick. However, people with strong yang energy will have more hyperactive yang heat resulting in excessive sweating when the weather is hot in summer.

Treatment: The sweating of hyperactive Yang heat can be treated without treatment. However, people who sweat find it inconvenient to sweat a lot. It is desirable to reduce sweating.

Conditioning: This hyperactive yang energy can be reduced by using medications or foods that clear heat and lower fire to lower the hyperactive yang energy, thus reducing sweating. It is recommended to use commercially available [herbal teas] that have the effect of clearing heat and lowering fire: such as Wang Laoji, Huang Zhenlong, and Echinacea herbal tea. You can also eat bitter gourd soup, mustard soup, mung bean soup and other soups that have the effect of clearing heat and lowering fire.

Note: The herbal teas and therapeutic soups that clear heat and lower fire can damage Yang Qi while lowering fire, so they should not be taken or consumed for a long time. If long-term drinking or fear of fire on long-term drinking, will lead to Yang deficiency, damage to health.

2.Lung Qi is weak

Performance: Sweating (excessive sweating during the day, sweating is more obvious when you move a little, also known as false sweating). After sweating, it is easy to breathe short of breath, body fatigue, fear of wind, easy to catch a cold, etc.

The reason: this kind of sweating people, usually weak, lung qi is not enough, so will breathe short of breath, the whole body fatigue. The body is not solid and the resistance is low, so they are afraid of the wind and easily catch a cold when the wind blows.

Treatment: Benefit Qi and consolidate the surface method.

Food therapy: You can stop sweating in the end by having to nourish the spleen and lung and strengthen the body. You can use astragalus and Huai Shan boiled chicken soup (astragalus 20g, Huai Shan 20 grams, half of the chicken, ginger 3 slices, jujube 10 grams). Long-term use can replenish Qi to stop sweating.

3.Dampness and heat vaporization

Performance: head sweat is obvious, there is always a feeling of steaming sweat on the head, sweat can have a foul odor, easy to make clothes stained yellow, red face, irritability, dry mouth, bitter mouth, yellow urine, stool or dry or sticky, thin yellow tongue coating or yellow thick and greasy, pulse string-like.

Causes: This kind of sweating people, easily emotional depression and irritability, liver qi stagnation, liver fire, or often eat hot pot and other spicy and fatty, or body damp heat vegetation, so that liver fire or damp heat steam, fluid leakage and increased sweating.

Treatment: Clearing heat and dispelling dampness. Note that the drugs to clear heat and dispel dampness are also cold drugs, do not take long-term damage to Yang Qi. Remember to remember to remember!

Food therapy: recommended to boil barley and red beans porridge (barley 20g, red beans 20g) to clear heat and dispel dampness. If damp heat is serious, you can add Artemisia or Poria to strengthen the role of heat and dampness in the soup.

Other methods: you can cupping or gua sha once every 3-5 days. Can get rid of damp heat.

4.Yin deficiency fire

Performance: Night sweating is obvious when sleeping at night, accompanied by lumbar soreness and burning of the heart of the hands and feet. Sweating in the heart of the hands and feet, thirst, red tongue with little coating, and fine pulse.

Causes: Weakness of the body leads to Yin deficiency fire (people with deficiency fire constitution, especially easy to get fire), deficiency fire forcing fluid to leak out resulting in night sweats.

Treatment: Nourishing Yin and lowering fire. Recommend the use of proprietary Chinese medicine

Food therapy: For people with yin deficiency, food therapy requires nourishing yin medicine. It is recommended to boil clear tonic cold (such as northern ginseng, maitake, yucca, lily of the valley, wolfberry, Chinese yam) and other soups to improve the yin deficiency constitution.

In addition, sweaty palms (mild: moist palms; moderate: sweaty palms when wet through a handkerchief; severe: sweaty palms in the form of dripping beads), aggravated by stress and anxiety.

If it is congenital (occurs from childhood or adolescence), it is usually difficult to treat. Thoracic sympathetic nerve chain dissection is currently the only effective and long-lasting treatment for primary hand sweating. However, the side effects are also more pronounced (e.g., going from having sweaty hands to having dry, sweat-free hands). If it belongs to acquired excessive hand sweating, you can refer to the treatment plan of Yin deficiency and fire for treatment.
