Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo otoliths?

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is a clinically common peripheral vestibular disorder, also known as otoliths, and is the most common form of vertigo originating in the inner ear. Transient vertigo can be induced when the head moves to a specific position, with nystagmus and autonomic symptoms. It can be seen in all age groups and is more common in the elderly. The disease is self-limiting. The most frequently affected semicircular canal is the posterior semicircular canal (80% to 90%), followed by the external semicircular canal (10%), and the least affected is the superior semicircular canal (2%). What kind of dizziness is considered benign paroxysmal positional vertigo? 1.Vertigo can be induced when changing head position, and the so-called vertigo is a clear sensation of external object or self rotation; 2.When changing head position, there is a latency period of 1 to 40 seconds before vertigo appears; 3.Vertigo is accompanied by nystagmus, and the nystagmus is the same as the latency period of vertigo, and when vertigo disappears, the nystagmus also disappears; 4.After inducing vertigo and keeping head position still, the duration of vertigo often does not exceed 60 seconds; 5.It must not be accompanied by Hearing changes such as deafness and tinnitus, which may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, panic and other plant nervous disorders. If your symptoms meet the above characteristics, it is very likely that you have otoliths. There is no need to panic, as otoliths is a benign disease and some patients can reset themselves with the change of head position and the vertigo is relieved. . Patients with severe cervical spondylosis, cervical spine trauma, carotid artery entrapment, and severe heart disease need to be treated with caution to prevent exacerbation. It is important to note that although otolith manipulation may seem simple, it must be performed by an experienced physician, and patients should not reset the otolith on their own to avoid danger.
