Gout can generally be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as indomethacin, anti-gout drugs such as colchicine, glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone, drugs that inhibit uric acid production such as febuxostat, and drugs that promote uric acid excretion such as benzbromarone.
1. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: can reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins, inhibit the inflammatory response, with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, common drugs are indomethacin, diclofenac and so on.
2. Anti-gout drugs: by combining with neutrophils to change the cell membrane function, thus controlling the pain, swelling and inflammatory reaction of joints, common drugs include colchicine.
3. Glucocorticoid drugs: If the above drug treatment is ineffective or contraindicated, you can follow the doctor’s instructions to use glucocorticoid drugs, with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic effect, common drugs are prednisone, hydrocortisone, dexamethasone and so on.
4. Inhibit uric acid production drugs: common drugs are febuxostat, allopurinol, etc., can inhibit uric acid synthesis to reduce the concentration of uric acid, but also can effectively relieve the symptoms of gout.
5. Promote uric acid excretion drugs: by inhibiting the absorption of uric acid in the renal tubules, reduce the concentration of uric acid in the blood, so as to effectively control the condition, the common drugs are probenecid, phenylbromarone and so on.
If gout patients need to use drugs, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital to consult a doctor, under the guidance of the doctor to use drugs, avoid self-medication.
