What happened to the heartbeat and shortness of breath on the stairs?

Patients with rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath while climbing stairs or after exercise are highly considered to have heart failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, or respiratory failure, all of which may lead to rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath after activity. If the patient also has lower limb edema, it is highly considered to be related to heart failure. Patients are advised to have a BNP test as well as a preliminary screening cardiac ultrasound. In addition, patients are advised to have arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function, lung CT or chest X-ray to help further clarify the diagnosis. If heart failure is the cause, it can be combined with the use of furosemide or oral hydrochlorothiazide and spironolactone. If it is triggered by respiratory failure, in addition to oxygen, it can be combined with wheezing, phlegm and nebulized inhalation to relieve this uncomfortable condition.
