Can endodontitis become periapical?

It is possible for pulpitis to turn into periapical infection.
1. Without timely treatment, the pulp tissue will liquefy, suppurate or necrose with the further development of the disease, and the bacteria in the pulp will spread to the deeper tissues and enter the apical tissues through the apical foramen to cause the emergence of periapical inflammation.
2. Both pulpitis and periapical inflammation may induce patients to experience pain. The pain of endodontitis is more fixed, and the pain is aggravated at night. The pain of apical periodontitis is radiating, and when biting or percussion, there will be severe pain.
It is recommended that patients with endodontitis take root canal treatment in time to prevent the emergence of apical periodontitis.
