Pulp Drainage is often used as an emergency treatment for pulpitis and takes anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 day, depending on the severity of the pulpitis.
By opening the pulp and draining the pulp, the inflammatory exudate inside the pulp cavity can be drained out, reducing the pressure in the pulp cavity and relieving the pain. If the pulpitis is mild and less inflammatory exudate needs to be drained, the time required is shorter, which may range from 20 minutes to 2 hours; if the pulpitis is severe and more inflammatory exudate needs to be drained, the time required is longer, which may range from 3 hours to 1 day.
1-2 days after the pulpotomy, you can go to the hospital for a follow-up check to see if the inflammation has subsided, and if the inflammation gradually subsides, you can carry out follow-up treatment under the guidance of your physician.
