Diabetes mellitus belongs to the category of consuming thirst in Chinese medicine. The combination of Radix Rehmanniae Ziziphi Tang with Shichuan Yuzhen Tang and Si Reverse San cannot cure the thirst-quenching syndrome. Radix Rehmanniae Ziziphi Tang has the effect of tonifying deficiency and returning yang, warming the middle and dispersing cold (dispersing cold with medicine that warms the spleen and stomach). It is used to treat cold in the five viscera, silencing of the mouth, straightening of the limbs, and loss of voice and speech. Shiquan Yuzhen Tang has the effect of nourishing deficiency, and can treat deficiency labor, body winnings and thinning, diet without strengthening muscles and strength, or asthenia (shortness of breath), or chills and fever from time to time, or dreaming, or spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with a slight movement), or coughing, and lack of solidity of essence and qi. Si Reverse San has the efficacy of penetrating the evil and relieving depression, dredging the liver and regulating the spleen. It is used for treating Yang depression and syncope syndrome, which is characterized by lack of warmth in the hands and feet, or abdominal pain, or discharge and heaviness in the lower part of the body, and stringy pulse. Pseudo-Zhi Lizhong Tang, Shiquan Yuzhen Tang and Si Reverse San cannot treat the symptoms of thirst-quenching. It is recommended that patients with thirst-quenching syndrome consult a doctor for comprehensive treatment under the guidance of a doctor, and do not self-medicate, so as not to delay the condition or produce adverse reactions.
