Do small cell lung cancer brain metastases still need treatment?

Brain metastasis of small cell lung cancer still needs treatment. Brain metastasis of small cell lung cancer mostly occurs in the advanced stage. Although the condition is relatively serious and the treatment is more difficult, it still cannot be given up, and comprehensive treatment needs to be actively carried out to help improve the quality of patient’s survival and prolong his/her survival cycle. If the treatment is proper, the patient’s life can be extended by 1-2 years, but if he/she gives up the treatment directly, he/she will die soon. Brain metastasis of small cell lung cancer needs to be combined with the number and location of metastasis as well as the size to determine the treatment plan. If there are 3-5 metastatic tumors and the size remains below 3 cm, stereotactic brain radiotherapy can be carried out on the basis of systemic chemotherapy; if the size is larger and the number of lesions is large, whole brain radiotherapy is needed.
