What causes itchy eyelids

There are many reasons why patients have itchy eyelids, such as allergic inflammation of the eyelids, mosquito bites, blepharitis and so on.
1. Allergic inflammation: If the eyelid skin of patients with allergies comes into contact with allergens such as chemical fiber items (e.g., cosmetics, hair dyes), plastic products, etc., it can cause local allergic metamorphosis, and the patient’s eyelids and the surrounding skin can experience intense itchiness, burning sensation, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
2. Mosquito bites: After the patient’s eyelids are bitten by mosquitoes, the anacids secreted by the mosquitoes can lead to localized allergic reactions, and the patient can experience redness, swelling, itching, and other uncomfortable symptoms on the eyelids.
3. Blepharitis: Patients’ eyelid margin tissues are infected by bacteria and other germs, which can cause blepharitis. Under the stimulation of inflammation, patients can have eyelid itching, burning sensation and other discomforts, and patients’ eyelid margin skin can also be congested and edema.
It is recommended that patients with significant eyelid itching should seek medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow medical advice.
