What is itching and peeling on the soles of my feet?

Itching on the bottom of the foot along with peeling skin may be due to tinea pedis. It is caused by a fungal infection and manifests itself clinically as white, sometimes edematous and moist skin on the foot, which becomes more itchy the more you scratch it, and itches significantly at night. It can be treated with topical antifungal medication, such as topical miconazole ointment, under medical diagnosis. It is important to keep the skin dry, keep the feet clean, wash them several times a day, change socks regularly and do not wear sneakers, travel shoes and other non-breathable shoes to avoid excessive foot sweat and increase the chance of infection.
