What is the cause of recurrent fever and cough in children?

Recurrent fever and cough in children are considered to be respiratory pathogenic infections, mostly respiratory viral infections and, to a lesser extent, bacterial, mycoplasma, chlamydia and fungal infections, caused by the following 3 main causes: First, they are commonly found in upper respiratory tract infections, such as rhinovirus, adenovirus and influenza virus, which can cause upper respiratory tract infection. Second, a longer time or poor resistance may spread downward to form bronchitis, which can also cause recurrent fever and cough. Third, it may also cause the development of pneumonia, especially in infants and young children with immature organ function and low immunity. Recurrent fever and cough itself may also lead to the spread of infection and the formation of sepsis, leading to the possibility of systemic infection. Therefore, recurrent fever and cough should be promptly seen at a hospital pediatric emergency department or pediatric respiratory medicine clinic for examination and evaluation of treatment.
