The generic name of Euthyrox is Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets, which is a thyroid hormone drug and is not an immunologic drug. Levothyroxine Sodium Tablet is a thyroid hormone analog used for the treatment of hypothyroidism, and is also used for suppressive therapy after surgery for simple goiter and thyroid cancer, as well as for thyroid suppression tests. If the dosage is excessive, some patients may experience adverse reactions such as angina pectoris, arrhythmia, vomiting, tremor, headache, restlessness, insomnia, excessive sweating, and spasm of the skeletal muscles, which usually subsides on its own after decreasing the dosage or discontinuing the drug for a few days. It is contraindicated in patients with heart failure, tachyarrhythmia and recent myocardial infarction, acute myocarditis, and is contraindicated in those who are allergic to this drug. Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets should be used under medical supervision.
